Food - The Unification Of A People

Food has been the unification of the people since the evolution of mankind. Food brings people together, religious ceremonies, bar -b-ques, school events, summer festivities, patriotic events. No matter what the occasion is, no matter what culture it is, food provides the potential for people to network and enrich their relations.

Food is the protagonist at all events and provides many benefits that we pass unnoticed, at childrens' birthday parties, their relations grow deeper, making their own memories and their own circles, business build lasting relations over a good dinner, family functions create deeper relations, just to name a few.  Food is an essential part in our daily lives.

The connection  between people of varied cultures has been food. It's an opportunity to unite and share special moments with family, friends and sometimes even strangers, food is an excellent choice for a conversation starter. Most immigrants who migrate, they integrate themselves within a community by opening a restaurant and sharing with the community their traditional meals from their homeland. Through food we learn about their culture, religion and ethics

Food is also associated with death, when someone passes away you are invited to the deceased's  house for coffee and cookies, so everyone joins together to remember the loved one that has passed away. Food is the representation that life still goes on after death. In the Greek culture even the mourners must gather at the table together after the funeral service and eat as its called " Mourning food."

The following is a quote from the bible about the last supper. This is a prime example how Jesus bonded the people with a piece of bread and wine. It represents deeper relations and lifetime unification.
While they were eating, Jesus took bread, gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to his disciples, saying, “Take and eat; this is my body.” 27 Then he took the cup, gave thanks and offered it to them, saying, “Drink from it, all of you. 28 This is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins.
At every  function that I prepare a meal, I put my heart to each dish that I make. Good Food, is imperative to our existence and to ensure long lasting relations within our immediate families and then with everyone else.
