Pumpkin Pie, my style !!

This is the way I make pumpkin pie and I love it !

Ingredients
1 package of phyllo
2 pound pumpkin cleaned and diced
2 pound onions cleaned and diced
1/2 cup of flour
butter for phyllo
salt & pepper to taste
* 1 cup of rice

Once you have diced your pumpkin and your onions you mix them together. Coffee and cooking are great together

Once you have diced your pumpkin and onions mix them together add flour and mix then add salt and pepper to taste.
Divide your phyllo in half ( as I have explained before ) and place in your pan, never forget to butter your pan and each phyllo sheet separately.

Cover your pie
Cover your pie
Bake for 45 min at 356 or 180 Celsius. Enjoy this delicious veggy pie ! :)

If your phyllo overlaps you cut it and use it as a crispy snack. Cover your pie with the remaining phyllo, make your crust and sprinkle with olive oil.

  1. When I think of pumpkin pie I think of a sweet, creamy, and spicy pie that's topped with whipped cream. Never had I ever thought about doing a savory version. This sounds intriguing. Thanks for sharing your recipe!

  2. This is Pat Moon... I have to reply anonymous. This is an interesting recipe. I had to look up phyllo as I had not heard of it. Is it something available at a regular grocery store or do you have to look for it at a specialty market?

  3. Good point! Phyllo, usually you find it a Greek grocery but lately I saw them at some supermarkets in New York. You can always make one, the way we make one for pizza.
    I though I had explained it on the blog, I will go back and check and if not I will add more information.

  5. This sounds ggod. Actually, I know it's good. I do a very similar pumpkin pie, only I don't use phyllo, but pie crust dough :-)

  7. Sometimes I use homemade dough as well. This is really good, I have a zucchini pie is coming up.
